Congratulations to all students of these Universities, University of Lagos and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria as they will resume on January 25.
The University of Lagos has announced that the school would resume on January 25 2021.
According to the head of media Unit of the school Olufadeke Akinleye the school would resume on January 25. However, they would start with online lectures and the lectures for the aborted 2019/2020 first semester would be completed on March 5. The online classes is because of the spike in COVID 19 cases. The school examinations would start on March 15 and by April 1 the students should have completed the examinations.
Meanwhile Ahmadu Bello University Zaria have also announced that schools would resume on January 25. This was announced in a press release by the University’s Public Affairs Directorate via their Facebook handle.
The Press Statement
Unlike the University of Lagos, Ahmadu Bello University would resume fully on January 25 and students would be allowed inside the school campus. However, to curb the spread of the virus and reduce the population of students, the school would resume in batches.
The first batch are students in 100,200, all graduating/ final year students and all Medical students. The rest would resume for the second batch.
All students would also sign an online undertaking to adhere strictly to the Covid-19 non pharmaceutical procedures.
This is good news for all students of these Universities as they are set to return to their academics in few days time. Congratulations to them once again.
Which of the resumption strategies is better? The online lectures or the full resumption with smaller population?
Should other schools emulate the Ahmadu Bello University school resumption pattern?
Do you think schools should even resume in the first place?
