Rotimi Ameachi, the Minister of transport has called for the arrest of EndSARS protesters who destroyed Governnent and private properties, especially at the Nigerian Ports Authority, he said that if the hoodlums as he called them are arrested, such thing would not repeat itself.
He stated this in the video of the tour around the Nigeria Ports Authority building today, stating that the damage done on the building and it’s surrounding is way too much and those responsible should be arrested, made to pay for the damage so such thing doesn’t repeat again.
He also tweeted about this few hours ago, stating that he toured the port building today, with some of his colleagues to see the damage done. He said that it was not a good sight to behold, he said that the government have to go after those responsible and make them pay.
He also stated that the right to protest is defined in the laws and that it does not include burning people’s private properties, houses, buildings and the rest (now he used Protest, hence the reason I stated that he is calling for the arrest of protests, not hoodlums).
Here is what he said few hours ago on his official twitter account;
“We toured the @nigerianports H/Q today & it wasn’t a good sight. If people are arrested for the crime perpetrated, they will not do it again. We have to go after the hoodlums & ensure they pay.
“The right to protest is defined in the laws of the land, it doesn’t include burning people’s private houses and public assets that belong to every Nigerian.”
He also share a video of the place, showing some horrors caused by the people who attacked and burnt doesn’t the building of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
Here are de of the pictures;
Well, as he said, it is not a good sight to behold because this damage is worth millions of naira and that same money would have been put to a good and better use than fixing this building.
Here is the video of the damage he shared online…
