In less than a day, another student of the University of Ibadan, Oluwaseun Ayomide has been allegedly killed by a driver who is a student of another University, University of Ilorin. Few hours before her death, a 400level student of History department, Ridwan Adebayo Adegoke was reportedly robbed and killed too by some yet to be identified robbers.
The 200- Level student of Microbiology, Miss Oluwaseun was allegedly hit along UI- Sango road by a car driven by a student driver but didn’ t die on the spot. She was immediately rushed to the hospital but unfortunately couldn’ t survive it. The case is currently being investigated by the Police in Sango division. It is saddening for the University as the two deaths happened in less than 24hours.
The University Director of Communication, Mr Tunji Oladejo released a statement on Sunday confirming the tragic incident. He said ” It is another dark Sunday as our 200- Level student of the department of Microbiology, Faculty of Science, Miss Oluwaseun Ayomide Adeyemo died due to injury she sustained from a road accident when she was hit by a fast moving vehicle driven by a fellow who lost control.
” The driver was said to be a student of the University of Ilorin. The accident occured in Mobil Petrol station on Ojo/UI road. The corpse of the late Miss Adeyemo has been deposited at the Department of Anatomy of the University.
” The matter is being investigated by the Sango Police Division of the Oyo State Police Command.
From the Director’ s report, it can be deduced that Oluwaseun’ s death is accidental but they can’ t be so sure yet since some deaths are made to look like an accident. Hence, further investigation is ongoing to ascertain the cause of Oluwaseun’ s death and also unravel those behind the murder of the second student, Adebayo Ridwan.
