See What Was Found On The Neck Of A Herdsman That Was Intercepted Yesterday By Amotekun In Oyo

Some Herdsmen were intercepted yesterday on their way to Ibarapa Oyo state by men of the Amotekun security outfit. It was reported by popular online news outlet Sahara reporters. They were in possession of 25 guns. I found out that one of the Herdsmen caught had an ID card on his neck.

In the picture he was seen trying to calm some other Herdsmen. I am forced to ask, which Identity Card is this?

Is it a Miyetti Allah association identity card?

Recall, that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu had issued a 7 day ultimatum to unregistered Herdsmen last week in Ondo State. The Ultimatum was however cancelled after the Miyetti Allah group promised that all their members would start registration.

If there are some registered Herdsmen then this could be one of them. He seems to have everything under control.

This is a step in the right direction. If all the Herdsmen in the South Western States get registered then tracking the criminals amongst them would be easier. Any crime perpetuated could easily be traced to the culprits.

Recall that there has been agitations in the South West for Fulani Herdsmen to quit the region. One of the people championing this cause is Chief Sunday Igboho.

Sunday Igboho earlier gave an ultimatum to Herdsmen in Ibarapa Oyo State. His house was burnt yesterday. Till we speak, the criminals behind the act have not been caught.

We hope the tensions in the region is deescalated and peace returns to the region.
