President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El- Rufai, have been criticized for the recent abductions on the Abuja- Kaduna route.
According to a news report, it was reported that On Monday, passengers were heard screaming for help when bandits ambushed travelers on the Abuja- Kaduna highway in a viral video circulating online.
Scores of travelers were kidnapped, according to the Kaduna State administration, but eleven of them were rescued.
In response to the incident, Aisha Yesufu, a well- known activist, took to her Twitter to demand that Buhari should be impeached by the National Assembly.
” I have not been able to do anything since hearing this news of the attack and killings on the Abuja- Kaduna expressway, and I have so many deadlines to meet! ” she tweeted.
” This is one of the reasons I do not read Newspapers nor watch the news on TV. I empathize and have survivor’ s guilt. People are kidnapped and killed and there is silence! Buhari should be dragged out of the villa!

” Can you tell me what the National Assembly is up to? ” Buhari should be impeached! It will be much appreciated by the people in the north! They are sick and tired of the heartless and soulless posing as Commander- in- chief! ”
Meanwhile, other Nigerians have gone to social media to urge an end to the frequent kidnappings and bandit attacks on the Abuja- Kaduna route.
They requested that the government take immediate action to fulfill its basic obligation of protecting Nigerians’ lives.
Below are what Nigerians commented.
@Integrity56 ” Terrorists control many communities in Niger State, and attacks on the Abuja- Kaduna Expressway have gone unchecked. Buhari is unfit to be President. ”
@Abajan ” The Government will never see justice for the innocent man killed yesterday on the Kaduna- Abuja expressway and a large number of people kidnapped. ” Do you understand why Nigeria is called the ” jungle” ? ”
@Skwash ” The Kaduna- Abuja Expressway has become a new haven for bandits and kidnappers, and the government has done nothing to address the problem. ” Their principal job of protecting citizens’ lives and property appears to be the least of their concerns. Who did we annoy?
@Otunba Ayomide1 ” What is preventing the Nigerian government from acting decisively on the Kaduna- Abuja expressway? ” For years, that road has been a haven for robbers, but the government continues to allow terrorists to kill and kidnap people. ”
@ MrSufy ” The government is not doing enough to address the kidnapping event on the Abuja- Kaduna road. It’ s dangerous to drive by car these days. ”
@Retson ” On that Kaduna- Abuja Expressway, the INSECURITY ECONOMY is lucrative. That’ s a great shame, since, given the frequency of attacks and the proximity to the FCT, you’ d think it would be a top priority for this administration to safeguard that route. ”
