In a rather unthinkable act, the Federal Government in the wake of the new year celebration re-arressted former Presidential aspirant and activist Omoyele Sowore and his cohorts.
Sowore has been a consistent critic of Muhammad Buhari’s administration for years, the activist who was first arrested in August 2019 over a planned Nationwide protest tagged “Revolution now” spent up to 100 days in the Director of State Security (DSS) office.
He was eventually released but given a stringent bail conditions; he must not travel out of the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) and should not organize or participate in any form of protest that may disrupt the peace of the country under the guise of “Revolution”.
Sowore on the morning of the last day in 2020 posted on his timeline; “How about a CrossOver Protest/Uprising tonight? Anyone willing to participate? Pick up a candle and a placard showing your grievances against the regime, let’s upload our short videos and photos across our SOcial Media platforms. Let’s welcome the regime to a RESOLUTE 2021!”
No doubt, this tweets of his made the Buhari’s administration to make the move against him by rounding himself and his fellow activists up in the wake of the new year.
