According to verified reports, President Muhammadu Buhari has said giving the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the opportunity to present his point of view to the tribunal has done him a favour.
Nnamdi Kanu has been charged with treason in Abuja Federal High Court.
Addressing a delegation of Igbo leaders led by the well- respected Igbo Greats who visited him at the Presidential Villa on Friday seeking the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, leader’ s release, the president said since he took over the leadership of the country that he did not confront or interfere in the work of the judiciary hence his decision to allow Nnamdi Kanu to be submitted through the system when he was arrested and returned to the country.
He said, ” I feel its even a favour to give him that opportunity. ”
The chairman of the delegation, First Republic parliamentarian and Minister of Aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi nevertheless pleaded for Nnamdi Kanu to be freed for peace to reign, Noting that the security situation in the south- east region has worsened.

Igbo Leaders Plea For Nnamdi Kanu’ s Release: Nobody Can Interfere In The Work Of The Judiciary
Igbo leaders paid a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, They asked the president to free the head of the IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
The President listened to their request and provided them with an answer. The manner in which the elders have behaved around the President is morally good.
The Igbos would have to accept the fact that these elders are their real leaders and not the ones who hide under cover of agitation to usurp authority over them. Until the Igbos learn to respect and take heed to their elders, things could never work well in the southeast region. ” True elders are God- ordained leaders”
The President has told the Igbo elders that he cannot set free the embattled self- acclaim leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu because the case is before the court which makes their application extremely difficult to him.
The president’ s answer is true, the reason is that no Nigerian, regardless of their position, can order the court to simply release a suspect. This will equate to the relegation of the court and Nigerian law.
The reason they got from the president. President Muhammadu Buhari made the following statement:
” You’ ve made an extremely difficult demand on me as leader of this country. The implication of your request is very serious. In the last six years, since I became President, nobody would say I have confronted or interfered in the work of the Judiciary. God has spared you, and given you a clear head at this age, with a very sharp memory. A lot of people half your age are confused already. But the demand you made is heavy. I will consider it. ” – the President said.
It is good that the elders convey the message to other agitators and people who instigate crimes in the geopolitical zone of southeastern Nigeria to embrace peace with the people and stop doing any harm.
One Important Point Orji Kalu Made While Telling the Igbos to Cooperate With President Buhari
An outstanding Igbo politician, Orji Kalu, has given a story to the Igbos about their relationship with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
From the reports, he advised the Igbos to cooperate with the president if they truly want the southeast region to grow.
Based upon the various things he said, he raised an important point which the Igbo should not overlook.
Removing the sentiment: Thither is a saying that two can’ t work together except they agree.
A factor that has affected growth in most areas of the country is feeling and tribalism. I have discovered that with the sentiment, growth and development will be very limited.
Despite the fact that the president has only two years to rule, but if the Igbos are able to suppress the sentiment as advised by Orji Kalu, 2 years is enough for positive change to begin in the Southeast region of Nigeria.
Working with the president is the only way for the southeastern perhaps better.
It has been reported that some Igbo executives visit the president a few hours ago to discuss some security issues. It is an example of cooperation. I pray the Igbos will follow in the footsteps of these leaders.
Let’ s take a look at some reactions from people online below:
” Please who is the old man sitting in Blue dress? ”
” Osetigo the fire 🔥 they ignited is burning uncontrollably now we go get a sense by fire by force”
” This is shameful. Having created the monster 💩 now they are looking for a soft landing for a criminal. Noway”
” This is a good movement by the President, Muhammad Buhari, and I want to use this opportunity to congratulate our Igbo leaders for attending the meeting with the President. I hope this meeting will bring good things to Igbo land. ”
” Why are your people like this? Begging for Kanu release”
