Olagunju Adetunji, a pastor in Kajola, near Osogbo, the Osun State capital, has been paraded by the state police command on Wednesday for being in possession of human hands and legs.
Rasheed Ajani, Saka Akeem, Abiodun Adetimilehin, and Adewumi Gbadamosi, a herbalist, were all paraded beside the 40- year- old preacher for allegedly killing a boy simply known as Kehinde at an Osogbo hospital.
According to the state Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode, the suspects were arrested by officers acting on intelligence in the Oke Ayepe area of Osogbo and Kajola ljesha.
” The suspects were arrested with two decaying hands and two legs of one Kehinde, whose surname and address are still unknown. The principal suspect, one Adewumi Gbadamosi, confessed to the crime and said the victim’ s head was given to one Olagunju Adetunji for rituals, ” the CP stated.
Gbadamosi told journalists that he killed Kehinde while on night guard duty in Osogbo, then dismembered him, stole some of his body parts, and threw the remains into a river.
The 50- year- old herbalist explained that he delivered the head to Adetunji and his companion Saka, who had come to him for assistance due to a lack of patronage.
He also said that Ajani, who worked as a night guard, helped him carry the body of the deceased after he had slain him.
However, Adetunji denied obtaining the deceased’ s head from the herbalist, but he admitted visiting Gbadamosi in his church after his friend Adetimilehin brought him there for spiritual help.
The suspects would be arraigned in court after the investigation has been completed, according to Olokode.
In another development in Ebonyi State, two weeks ago, a famous pastor was also caught with human parts and charms in his church.
Following the arrest, angry mob beat him to a pulp.
