SHOCKING! Nollywood Actress Nabbed By Police For Robbery

In what comes as quite shocking reports, a Nollywood actress, Jennifer Ifunanya Ogbonna has been arrested by men of the Nigerian police force on allegations of robbery.

According to reports, Jennifer was nabbed by operatives from Aswani Division after allegedly robbing a makeup artist, Blessing Yusuf, of her bag containing items worth N1.8m and fleeing.

The thievery occurred at Ikotun roundabout after Jennifer visited Yusuf who was due to travel out of the country the next day.

Jennifer allegedly ran away with the lady’s bag and blocked every possible access point through which the lady could reach her.

She had allegedly started disposing the items before she was tracked and arrested at a popular hotel by Volkswagen Bus Stop, Ojo Alaba area of Lagos.

Upon her arrest and being taken to the Station, Jennifer, who hails from Ubakala area of Umuahia, Abia State, said that she was filled with anger as Blessing was about to travel outside Nigeria and the thought came over her to rob her because she had such experience in the past and she did so.

She said she was married and had two kids before she divorced her husband, joined Nollywood and started acting films in the industry.

On how she met Jennifer, the complaint, Blessing Yusuf, said that she met her at a location when they went to shoot a film and from there they exchanged contact.

On the day the incident happened, Blessing said that Jennifer called her and she went to meet her at Ojodu Berger, where they stayed and discussed before she told her that she was homeless and wanted to sleep in her house till the next day.

She accepted and they slept in her house till the next day. When she was to travel, the suspect, Jennifer, volunteered to see her off. By the time they got to Ikotun, where Blessing wanted to buy one item, she disappeared with her bag.

The matter was reported to the Police, who moved into action, eventually arrested her and detained at the Station for interrogation.

Sources at the Police Station said that the Police have recovered some of the stolen items and she has also made a confessional statement.

They further said she will be charged to Court for the alleged offence after the conclusion of investigations.

In another story, Toke Makinwa has been ordered to pay her ex-husband, Maje Ayida the sum of N500,000 for damages after losing the defamation lawsuit he filed against her.

At a Lagos state high court sitting at Tafawa Balewa Square on Wednesday, November 11, a judge ruled in favour of Ayida to claims that Toke had defamed his name and brand in her 2016 book, On Becoming.

Ayida had instituted the defamation suit against his ex-wife back in 2017. In a letter of demand written by his lawyers, he had asked that stop the promotion and sale of ‘On Becoming,’ a memoir by the media personality.

In the tell-all memoir, published on November 27, 2016, by Kachifo Limited, Makinwa had accused Ayida of being a serial cheat. She also claimed that he gave her s*xually transmitted diseases.

But in the 2017 filed lawsuit, Ayida, a fitness coach had alleged that Makinwa’s book not only contained defamatory words but was also misleading.

Ayide had also said that the book — which he described as nothing but “exaggerated fabrication” — caused him public ridicule.
