Police operatives of the Kwara state police command has apprehended and paraded eight suspected ritualist over the abducting, killing ritual killings, exhuming dead bodies from where buried, removing and trading in human skull and other human body parts in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state.
The suspects, according to the police confessed and accepted the crime and the confessed to have sold thirty one (31) human heads to some rich men in Ilorin and other towns in Kwara State which the allegedly used for ritual purposes.
The suspects were identified as Azeez Yakub a. k. a Baba Muri who was the Principal Suspect Abdulrasaq Babamale, Aishat Yunisa, Lukman Saka, Ahmed Yahaya a. k. a Eko, Abdulfatai Kadri a. k. a (Adedoyin)– Vigilante Commander, Adeta Zone, Ilorin; Soliu Ayinde a. k. a Baba Fawasi and Abdulganiyu Bamidele.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood speaking at the police Headquarters, in Abuja on Wednesday he said based on series of complaints received at the ‘ D’ Divisional Police Headquarters, Adewole, Ilorin Kwara State on missing person cases and, kidnapping, murder, killings for rituals, and exhuming of dead bodies from where they were buried, removing of human skull and other human parts of their victims; the Inspector General of Police ordered that some group of police team should swung into actions and apprehend this suspect who are committers of the act.
Upon this order given this men were arrested with 31 human heads on their way back from operations, the were paraded at the state police headquarters with all the heads in their hands.
After series of interrogations the confessed that the were also ritualist who go around looking for human heads and other sensitive parts of the body which is mostly acceptable during rituals, the added that this heads were been sold to rich men who uses them for ritual purposes.
They are currently in the police custody awaiting trail.
