With the closure of operations since last year, police visibility has increased significantly on our roads. These men and women in uniform mean business. This is a way of making sure that all citizens follow the rules as set by the government.
The pastor found himself trapped between a rock and a hard surface where police blocked a roadblock. He was driving at a faster speed so he doesn’ t get caught, but all ended in vain. On Thursday morning, it was so unfortunate that, even the Bible kept in his car could not save him from the shadows of the police.
This came after he was arrested by Denlyn Mall police in Mamelodi East, Tshwane. In a report received from Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo of the Gauteng Police Service, a pastor of Jerusalem Apostolic Church located at Phomolong, Mamelodi East, got arrested by the police for driving without a driver’ s license.
” The pastor was arrested while driving his old car to work in East Lynne, Tshwane. Operation Okae Sheria was directed by provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela.
” This morning, eight hundred and thirty (830) wanted criminals were arrested by detectives across the province, and the vehicles were confiscated because their engine numbers were tampered. And those who are possession of dagga, were also detained by the police and the Department of Home Affairs deported five undocumented immigrants, ” Mawela said.
” We urge the people of Mamelodi to enjoy themselves, ” he said.
He said most of the attacks were carried out by people who knew each other. The attack leads to an attempted murder, which leads to the murder.
He continued to say that ” we must stop being aggressive as a society. If we have problems, we should look for ways to resolve them. ”
Do you think the police did wrong by not allowing this pastor continued his journey to the church? In my own little opinion, I think the police were right by getting him arrested. After all, no one is above the constitutional rules of a country, not even the president.
