On the 26th of February, news sources revealed that there was an attempted arrest on Sunday Igboho, the Yoruba activist. Recall that Sunday Igboho had instructed Fulani herdsmen residing in Oyo to evacuate the state because of the crimes some of them engage in, and ever since, he has remained on the news.

According to Punch newspaper, Sunday Igboho revealed that he is not scared of any attempt to get him arrested. In an interview with Punch newspaper, Sunday Igboho revealed that they laid an ambush for him and when they arrived, they were shouting; “where is Sunday Igboho?”. He stated that he presented himself and then they told him he was under arrest, he stated that he questioned them with regards to why they wanted to arrest him. He further stated that things began to go out of hand hence those who attempted to arrest him had to leave the scene.

The question on everyone’s minds including that of Sunday Igboho is why bandits and kidnappers are not arrested, instead, they are paid handsomely for their acts.

Although most people say the DSS is responsible for the attempted arrest, news sources say the DSS has denied being involved in the attempted arrest.
