Since FG Failed To Disarm The Terrorists, Benue Govt Will Apply For AK47 & AK49 For CVG – Ortom
Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State, has established Community Volunteer Guard as his state’s security force (CVG). According to the Daily Trust article, Governor Ortom stated that the state government will provide the group with cutting-edge weapons so they could combat terrorists in the state.
The Benue State Government recently reviewed the Benue State Vigilante Law of 2000, which was enacted to work with the traditional security services to address security issues, Governor Ortom decried the nation’s growing insecurity challenges.
He claimed that in order to allow for the creation of the Community Volunteer Guards, his administration had to change the law. According to the new law, he claimed, the security team may possess lawfully issued weapons that have been approved by the government.
The State Government is going to apply for a license to legally obtain AK47, AK49, and other sophisticated weapons for the Benue State Volunteers Guards in order to enable them to effectively combat these terrorists, he added, given that the Federal Government has repeatedly failed to disarm the terrorists who have continued to maim and kill our people at will.
One of the states that has had major violent assaults that are thought to be carried out by herdsmen is Benue. Many people have praised Governor Ortom for creating the security organization in response to the state’s security challenges.
