The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has revealed how he cried during his visit to the Izombe community over the alleged killing of the residents by men of the Nigerian Army.
Recall that it was reported that some Soldiers allegedly murder many people and burnt down houses in Izombe after two soldiers were killed and a military vehicle was reportedly destroyed by the youths of the community.
According to Sharareporters, a resident who speaks in anonymity the soldiers are killing anybody sighted in the community.
He said, ” Nigeria Army is committing genocide in South Eastern Nigeria ordering kill on sight after a mob killed a Soldier who shot an innocent man dead.
” These same soldiers will apologise for mistakenly killing an innocent civilian in Northern Nigeria while fighting Islamic terrorist Boko Harm but in the South- East they will order them to shoot at anyone.
” Ethnic cleansing is happening in Nigeria. Many people are missing and more than 100 houses burnt to ashes, ” the resident added.
While visiting the community, Governor Hope Uzodinma said the properties of his brothers and sisters which were but during the attack made him cry.
His words, ” I am shedding tears. I am shedding tears because the properties of my brothers and sisters suffered to built were burnt. ”
He added that if not for the support gotten from the Izombe community, he wouldn’ t have become a Senator. Therefore he takes Izombe as his home town.
Governor Uzodinma added, ” I would not have been a Senator without the kind of support I got from Izombe.
” I take Izombe as Omuma, my home town. It is painful that after all our sufferings, struggle and God answered our prayer, this happened. ”
He further stated that those that perpetrated the evil will be punished by God.
” Instead of us continuing to see blessings, we are seeing obstacles. God will punish those behind all these things happening. “
