I Started Feeling Sorry For The Members Of The ESN After What The Army Is Trying To Achieve In Orlu

I feel that it is high time the Eastern Security Network group reviewed their stand in the East, not after what the Nigerian army has started doing in the East. In fact, it is only a matter of time before the Nigerian Army starts clamping down heavily on the group, and it would not be surprising that the soldiers would definitely have the support of the Igbo indigenes.

Some weeks ago, there was a heavy clash between the men of the Eastern Security Network and the Nigerian soldiers in Orlu, where 4 soldiers from the 34 Artillery Brigade in Obinze lost their lives. Also, many property were burnt including a church in the area. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

However, the founder of the group, Nnamdi Kanu, after the attack in Orlu, has asked his men to return to the forest and cease fire. Some reports from notable news outlets such as the Saharareporters, claim that the Eastern Security Network is gradually earning the respect and love of the Eastern people, and this might be a big issue for the Nigerian army that has been looking for a way to trample on the group.

Interestingly, the Nigerian Army seems to have come up with a well-strategized plan to earn the love and respect of the people, too. The Nigerian land Force has decided to rebuild a standard road of 1.5 kilometres in Orlu, Nkwerre local government area in Imo State.

In a statement made by a source in the military, similar projects like the one in Orlu are being carried out in Anambra, Delta, and Edo state, and they are being solely funded by the Nigerian army from the headquarters in Abuja.

The source further stated that the reasons for the projects in Orlu are quite simple. One, to earn the support, faith and love of the people, and to weaken the grip of influence of the Eastern Security Network on the people.

Moreso, claims were made that the roads in Orlu are bad, thus they require reconstruction. Following these reports, I believe that the men of the Eastern Security Network should have a reason to Shiver, why?

Because, The Nigerian army constructing a road project in Orlu, and trying to earn the love of the people may mean that something heavy is coming to Orlu, and it will adversely affect the Eastern Security Network. It will not be surprising to see heavy machines trooping in after the road in Orlu is completed, I just hope the members of the group will be ready for the unknown that is coming towards them.
