Contrary to the orthodox belief that removing public hair is part of personal hygiene, a gynaecologist, Dr. Jen Gunter, has disclosed that such action is capable of causing trauma in women, which are infectious.
She explained that shaving or obliterating the hairs would offer a lot of negativities to women’s hygiene.
Speaking with BBC reporters, she said, “You are causing microscopic trauma to the skin.”
The gynaecologist further added that “Public hair has a function; it is probably a mechanical barriend protection for the skin.
“It may also have a role in sexual functioning because each public hair is attached to a nerve ending, that’s why it hts to remove it,” she concluded.
