The ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, is not a thing of joy for so many students. Due to the government inability to meet the demands of the Union, the strike continues indefinitely, hence, no determined or predicted time for it’s halt.
Some people are sharing fake informations about the resumption of universities which can manipulate students. Therefore be aware of the following guidelines, so you won’t be a victim.
Every Nigerian student should take note of these things:
- The ongoing strike for the meantime has no end date, as the union declares it’s indefinite not until the government mutually goes in agreement with them.
Nobody can offer you admission not until the respective schools publicly announces their readiness for new admission.
Note that schools (institutions) can’t and won’t commence admission process without the off calling of the strike because those that will conduct the test are the lecturers. Therefore any information relating to such is false and fake.
- Admist ASUU Strike, These Universities And Other Tertiary Institutions Have Announced Resumption Date
The only tertiary institutions that are on with their studies are states universities, state polytechnic, state college of education and private institutions, therefore these institutions may have begun their admission processes and might have even concluded. Ensure to look up to your schools(state or private universities) website for details on new admission.
Aspirants should subscribe to their aspiring school website, so they can get updates on the school’s plans via email newsletter. Every other information apart from your school’s newsletter should be considered false.
- For aspirants, be certain that nobody is enrolling anyone for now as far as it’s a federal institution. Few days ago an aspirant fell to the schemes of some fraudsters who promised to enlist her name in the merit admission list that will be coming out on the first week of December. It’s only the ignorant ones that will jump into cheap lies like this.
Please debunk any information on social medias that tends to declares an unverified information. Only few schools has a verified social media accounts, others are pirated accounts.
These and more are the things students should look after while waiting for the FG response. There’s a lot of manipulative information out there, don’t let them keep you off track.
