Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba Nation activist, has urged his supporters to forgive Ibrahim Salami, one of his Benin Republic-based lawyers.
In a leaked audio recording, Igboho chastised one of his lawyers, Salami, for allegedly disrespecting him.
Yoho said the lawyer abandoned him and kept him waiting for nearly 15 minutes while chatting with someone else in the leaked tape acquired by SaharaReporters.
Despite earning around N5 million apiece, he slammed all of his Benin Republic-based lawyers and complained about his alleged mistreatment and abandonment in prison.
If the Benin Republic returned Igboho to Nigeria, they voiced hope for freedom.
In an interview with the BBC, Salami criticized the activist’s statements, claiming that the leaked recording jeopardized the Igboho’s s pursuit of justice.
He claimed that Igboho was enraged with him and other members of the legal team because he believed he had no justification to be detained by the police for ” not committing any crime. ”
In Yoruba, the lawyer said, ” He wants things done faster. ”
Igboho, according to Salami and other members of the legal team, was enraged because he believed he had no reason to remain in police custody.
In a recent incident, Bobagunwa Yekini, one of Igboho’ s closest colleagues, said in a video: ” This is a message from Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho, we just spoke, and he requested me to plead with you all (Yoruba Nation fans) to forgive lawyer salami. ”
” He pleaded with us to forgive him, all freedom fighters, and those who spread his name over the world. We all need each other because he needs us and we need him.
” Igboho is a formidable warrior. ” He never insults anyone, and he despises insults. We’ll let you off the hook, lawyer salami. It is now up to you to take action. We’ll lavish praise on you if you do the right thing. “
