TENSION! ! ! Nigerians Fear The Worst As Kanu Returns To Court Over New Treason Charges

The Proscribed Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has been made to return to court in Abuja today for a resumed hearing on the charges brought against him by the Federal Government. This was reported by The Guardian.

The Abuja Federal Court of Justice set November 10, 2021 three weeks ago to challenge Kanu’ s motion against the jurisdiction of the treason charges brought against him by the federal government.

He also called on Judge Binta Nyako to dismiss the recently amended seven- point charges.

Kanu was charged with terrorism, treason and the perpetuation of falsehoods against President Muhammadu Buhari, mainly through broadcasts on the controversial Radio Biafra media and also on social networks.

He pleaded not guilty at his last trial on October 21, 2021.

The group’ s media and public relations secretary, Emma Powerful, urged people from the southeast to stay indoors and to move Abuja residents to the canoe testing site.

IPOB has exempted hospitals and their staff as well as journalists from the order.

” Our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu goes to court tomorrow (today) November 10th, 2021, and our people must stay inside while others move to Abuja in solidarity with our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and we to the Nigerian government and ministry waiting for the civil service (DSS) to unconditionally release him because he has not committed a crime.

” We hope that the people will obey this order and the resolution to support Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The IPOB must allow our people like doctors, nurses, ambulances and journalists to operate during the sitathome because we don’ t want pregnant women and sick people. have health problems or complications.

” Doctors have to come to hospitals but they have to have identification and journalists have to be able to operate and report what is happening across Biafraland, ” said Powerful.

However, there are speculations that war may be looming as DSS has barred journalists from covering case or whatsoever while IPOB are on the lookout for any foul play. What are you thoughts on this? Do you have fears as regards the outcome?
