SP Alimeke Ignatius, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Obantoko Division in Adatan Area Command, and his colleagues were attacked by some rogue students from two secondary schools in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

During a brawl between pupils from Egba Comprehensive High School and Asero High School, the police officers were attacked.

The kids from the two schools had engaged in a brutal brawl before the Obantoko police station was summoned to put an end to it.

The students, who hurled stones and other projectiles at themselves, reportedly stopped the main route, increasing tension among the locals.

The students allegedly harmed Alimeke and some of his guys when they raced to the scene of the incident to enforce law and order.

Meanwhile, the incident was condemned by the state branch of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).

In a statement signed by his media aide, Babatunde Odeyemi, the state Chairman of PCRC, Samson Kunle Popoola, decried public disruption by secondary school students in the state, stating that ” if this is not swiftly stopped, it may depict a huge threat for the future of this country. ”

In another news: Two people were slain by suspected Fulani herders in another raid on a community in Plateau State’ s Miango area on Tuesday.

The two guys were apprehended by herdsmen on their way home from their farm, according to SaharaReporters.

Daniel James, 32, and Zakwe Deba, 35, were also recognized as suspects.

According to a report, the Fulani herdsmen accosted the two guys before shooting them to death.

The insider further stated that police were notified of the incident as soon as it occurred.

In recent years, attacks by Fulani herdsmen in the state have increased the level of insecurity in the state.

Some gunmen had urged Nigerian Army forces to leave their post surrounding a village in the same Miango community in Bassa Local Government Area a few weeks ago, amid other earlier attacks and threats.

Following reports of gunmen attacking residents, a company of soldiers was reportedly deployed to the region.

The army’ s Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) forces had previously prevented the assailants from attacking the residents.
