Thousands Of Adamawa Youths Declare Support For Peter Obi And Datti Baba-Ahmed
According to Guardian Nigeria, thousands of young people in Yola, the state capital of Adamawa state, have rallied in favor of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running partner Baba Datti-Ahmed.
According to the report, stores along the renowned Atiku Abubakar avenue were closed yesterday as shopkeepers came out to cheer the youth and women carrying banners urging support for Obi’s presidential bid.
Jeremiah Peter, a spokesman for the Coalition of All Peter Obi’s Campaign Supporters, told media that the purpose of the roadshow was to educate the people of Adamawa that only Obi can rescue the children of the poor.
According to him, the selection of Obi was based on his expertise, his credentials, and his age, which he said were the factors that elevated him above the other candidates.
He urged Nigerians to vote for candidates on the basis of their qualities, not their race, area, or religion. Jeremiah said that the purpose of the roadshow was to educate the people of Adamawa about the need of registering for a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) in order to elect their preferred politicians.
He warned people not to sell their votes, noting that their children and grandkids will bear the repercussions of any selfish actions.
