Tinubu Confirms Submission To INEC.
All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has confirmed submitting running mate’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
But Tinubu and his party have remained silent on the identity of the vice presidential candidate.
The media office of the former Lagos Governor provided an update Friday night.
The statement said the submission was in line with the stipulation of the electoral law, INEC guidelines and timetable.
Lawan Accepted By INEC As Senatorial Candidate.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has recognised Ahmad Lawan as the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress for Yobe North Senatorial District.
Mr Lawan’s name was uploaded on INEC’s server by the ruling party alongside other senatorial candidates across the 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory.
Mr Lawan did not participate in the party’s primary. Bashir Machina, who contested the primary in the district and won, has been contesting the party’s determination to steal his mandate. He vowed never to back down on his mandate.

Shina Peller Dumps APC, Faults Party’s Internal Democracy.
A member of the House of Representatives Federal Constituency, Oyo States Shina Peller, has dumped the All Progressives Congress. The lawmaker announced his defection on his Twitter page on Friday. He added that he would be announcing his new party on Tuesday after due consultations.
Justifying his defection, Peller claimed that the party style of democracy in Oyo State kills my conscience. He added that his continued stay in APC would be at the detriment of interest of his supporters, particularly the youths.
We’ll Deal Decisively With Electoral Offenders-Police.
Ahead of the governorship election in Ekiti state, the Nigeria Police have vowed to deal with any electoral offenders during the conduct of the election.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Babatunde Johnson Kokumo, in charge of the Ekiti election, said this when he visited the Ekiti Resident Electoral Commissioner, Rec, Dr Adeniran Rahmon.
Kokumo said that a robust security arrangement has been put in place to ensure a transparent poll in the state.
