The captured leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has allegedly made more revelations regarding his arrest.
Recall that the IPOB leader was arrested and repatriated to Nigeria so he can continue his trial.
The IPOB leader has spoken for the first time from detention since his rearrest about three weeks ago.
According to information, his special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, was allowed to speak directly with him inside the detention facility on Wednesday, in Abuja. It is reported that the duo spoke together for about three hours.
Aloy Ejimakor said the IPOB leader alleged that the people that arrested him were told by their sponsors that he was a Nigerian terrorist that is linked to the Islamic terrorists in Kenya.
“The people that abducted him said that they were told by their sponsors that Kanu was a Nigerian terrorist linked to the Islamic terrorists in Kenya, presumably Al-Shabab”, Premium Times reported.
Speaking further, Nnamdi Kanu told his special counsel that when they eventually knew his true identity, they started treating him less badly.
The IPOB leader is set to face fresh charges from the federal government of Nigeria. He has been accused of instigating violence in the South East which led to the loss of lives and properties of civilians and security personnel in the region.
