Special troops of the Nigerian Army in Okene local government area have arrested a notorious criminal who allegedly killed one of their men during a gun battle.
According to reports intensive patrol across various states following an intelligent information concerning criminal hideouts, on Sunday army detectives supported by Army Headquarters Special Forces conducted a serious operation at Irovochinomi and Egee communities within Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State.
During the raid the army men made a very arrest.
Reports had it that During the operation one of the notorious armed robber who was identified as Mohammed Bashir a member of the gang that allegedly killed an army cobral Mamman of Army Headquarters Special Forces on 27 February 2018, was arrested and the following items were gotten from him, a 2 AK 47 rifles with registration number 58008731 and 45 rounds of 7. 62mm special was seen with him.
A serious follow up on the operation brought to the recovery of additional 2 AK 47 rifles. Pictures of the suspect and the incriminating items recovered were placed Infront of the suspect.
The supect who was paraded at the army headquarters was confirmed by the head of criminal patrol team, who said the supect and his gang has been in the wanted list of the command for a very long time.
Thanks to the army troops who acted fast on the intelligent information the got and arrested the man.
The suspect was sometime responsible for the killing of the amry officer who they shot dead on duty.
The army boss added that the suspect will handed over to the for pesecution.
He added that serious pesecution must be done to the suspect, because killing an army officer is a very serious offense which needs to be treated very seriously.
He added that the Supects after interrogations will be charged to court as possible.
