The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed regret over the death of Sumbo Ajose, the Treasurer of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
Ajose died in the United States on July 13, 2021, while undergoing treatment for an unidentified illness.
She died at the age of 55 years old.
The late party treasurer was lauded by the governor as a “trustworthy, committed, and exceptionally loyal politician who was a wonderful asset to the Lagos APC.”
This was said in a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, headed “Sanwo-Olu Mourns Lagos APC Treasurer, Sumbo Ajose.”
“The death of our party’s treasurer, Sumbo Ajose, is a terrible and significant loss for myself, Lagos APC, the departed family, and friends. I’m grieved by the passing of this tireless, devoted, loyal, and committed democrat and team player who made significant contributions to our party’s achievements during her lifetime.
Sanwo-Olu was cited as stating, “She would be missed by her family, friends, and the entire political class, particularly the Lagos APC State Executive Committee, chieftains, and members of the party across the State.”
The governor prayed that God would bring “everlasting peace to our beloved Sumbo Ajose’s soul and comfort to the deceased’s immediate and political family.”
