Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Biafra dream might be finally coming to reality as he gets the support of a prominent warlord from the Niger Delta. Ex-militant leader, Asari Dokubo dared the federal government to constitute a Biafran government.
Dokubo, on Sunday, declared himself the leader of the new Biafra defacto Customary Government (BCG). Dokubo assured that the defacto administration will tackle insecurity challenges faced by the Igbos and improve the lives of the people of the region.
The former warlord said the BCG decided to take its destiny in its hands and bring freedom to children and generations of Biafrans yet unborn. His announcement is expected to be a huge encouragement to Kanu who is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. Kanu who lives in the United Kingdom has already established the Eastern Security Network, ESN – a group that has been locked in a battle with security operatives.
The combination of a recalcitrant Kanu and Asari will threaten the internal security of Nigeria and also make the government uncomfortable.
There are fears that the situation might spiral out of control and the agitators might achieve their secession dream.
Nigerians who are sympathetic to the Biafra cause have been celebrating on social media since Asari made the controversial announcement.
