Ayo Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, paid a congratulatory visit to Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at his Lagos State residence on Tuesday.
Fayose, a PDP chieftain on trial for N6. 9 billion by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, said Tinubu’ s return to the country after his medical sojourn abroad was a blessing from God.
Despite his visit to the former Lagos State governor, he stated that he remained a PDP member.
Fayose tweeted about his visit to the Bourdillon on Twitter, stating he doesn’ t like ” signing condolence registers. ”
” I was in Bourdillon, Ikoyi, Lagos today to wish Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu a speedy recovery, ” he wrote. Health difficulties transcend political parties, and we rarely celebrate people’ s lives in this region of the world. Rather, we enjoy signing condolence books. That, in my opinion, is not the ideal way to live.
” Above all, politics should be about love for one another. ” As a result, like other Nigerian politicians, I wish Asiwaju good health. And, regardless of this visit, I remain an unrepentant PDP leader and important shareholder, ” he concluded.
On Friday, SaharaReporters revealed that Tinubu had returned discreetly to Nigeria after months abroad for medical treatment.
SaharaReporters also revealed that his political associates planned a ” grand welcome” that was eventually canceled.
The ex- Lagos governor entered the nation secretly, avoiding any attention, due to his incapacity to withstand the rigors of a physical rally.
” Tinubu has returned softly tonight. ” He returned calmly, but he couldn’ t handle the physical demands of a rally.
” He flew in in a Falcon jet with the registration VP- CBT. The jet’ s tracking has been disabled on aviation tracking platforms, according to a source.
Meanwhile, the APC in Lagos State has sent out a circular to its leaders across the state alerting them that Tinubu’ s Sunday welcoming party will not take place as planned.
According to SaharaReporters, the APC sent the circular to party leaders at the ward and local government levels, signed by Alhaji Tunde Balogun (APC State Chairman) and Alhaji Maroun Are (GAC Secretary), without providing a particular explanation for the change of plan.
The cancellation, according to SaharaReporters, was caused by an exclusive article released by this media, which pushed them to call it off quickly.
According to SaharaReporters, Tinubu revealed that he had a difficult health problem, noting that his ” physiotherapy was ghastly. ”
Tinubu made the remarks while speaking to members of the northern caucus of the House of Representatives who paid him a visit in London two Fridays ago.
” Because to God and people like you, I am healthy, ” said the former governor, who had been in the United Kingdom for the past three months following knee surgery. ” It’ s only the physio (physiotherapy) that’ s painful. ”
President Muhammadu Buhari, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, Governors Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Babajide Sanwo- Olu (Lagos), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), and Kayode Fayemi have all paid Tinubu a visit since his departure (Ekiti).
