Five suspected ritual killers have been arrested by the operatives of the Kwara State Police Command for alleged murder of a se× worker in Patigi area of the state.
The suspects were arrested in Patigi in Kwara state and Minna in Niger state, while three other suspects are still at large.
The identities of the suspects were given as Mohammed Gbara aka Madi, Peter Tsado, Bala Karin, Mohammed Ahmadu Nma and Abubakar Mohammed aka Mallam Baba Pati.
It was gathered that the five men were allegedly involved in the murder of a commercial se× worker identified as Abigail, who was picked up on June 29, 2021, in a hotel in Patigi and ended up being killed for money ritual.
This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by Ajayi Okasanmi, the Police Public Relations officer of the Kwara State Police Command, stating that one Peter Tsado negotiated for the services of Abigail and picked her up at Victory Hotel, Patigi.
Tsado reportedly took Abigail on motorcycle to his house, after agreeing on paying her N5, 000, but on getting to his house, he strangeled her and severed her head with the help of one Mohammed Gbara.
According to the PPRO, after killing the victim, they dumped her remains in a bush and took her head to Niger state to meet their accomplices.
The statement read in part, ” On 29/6/2021 at about 23. 08hrs, an unknown young person later identified as Samuel Peter Tsado of Patigi town in the Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, went to one Victory Hotel in Patigi and requested the service of a commercial se× worker by name Abigail, other names unknown. After the monetary negotiation of N5, 000, both Peter and Abigail left the hotel premises to an unknown place. Ever since then, both of them were not seen again. ‘ ‘
The PPRO further disclosed in the statement that the detectives of the command arrested three other suspects in Bida and Minna in Niger State and they confessed of earlier involvement in a ritual killing, using the hand of a yet- to- be- identified victim.
Okasanmi stated that the suspects took the officers to a bush where the decomposing body of the victim was recovered and efforts to recover her head is in progress as the person with her head is still at large.
