The US Presidential Election Brought forth a winner on Saturday after a tough tussle. Joe Biden Was elected President after he beat Donald Trump by crossing the threshold of 270 electoral votes.
Since Saturday, Various Leaders in the world have sent congratulatory messages to Biden and His Vice, Kamala Harris who is the first female Vice President-elect in the History of the United States of America. Countries like France, United Kingdom, India, Canada, Ireland, Germany all sent their best wishes, but Russia, China, north Korea amongst others are yet to congratulate Biden. Today, NATO Allies Turkey left that list and has sent a strong message of Congratulations to the President-elect of The United States.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated President-elect Joe Biden today after days of long silence, expressing Turkey’s determination to work closely with the new administration.
Erdogan: “I believe that the strong cooperation and alliance between our countries will continue to contribute to world peace in the future, as it has done so far,”
Turkey was one of a handful of countries, along with Russia, that had not commented on Biden’s victory, which was announced Saturday. A senior Turkish official said Monday that Ankara would wait until legal challenges to the U.S. election results were resolved and for the outcome to be finalized.
