Vehicles Damaged, One Person Injured as Tree Falls in Campsite
Several Kenyans who were enjoying their weekend at a Naivasha hotel are now counting losses after an acacia tree fell on their vehicles.
Reports indicate the Sunday, May 1, evening incident occurred after strong winds coupled with a heavy deluge led to the crash of the ageing tree.
According to Citizen TV, five vehicles were damaged in the accident while one man was also injured and was rushed to the hospital where he is in a stable condition.
“One person was injured during the incident and five cars were extensively damaged during the incident,” Naivasha sub-county deputy commissioner Mutua Kisilu said.
A guest in the hotel called Camp Carnelley’s located on the shores of Lake Naivasha said he and his family were having a meal when they heard the loud bang.
Simon Ouma said the injured man had gone to collect something from his car when the accident occurred.
