The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended 2 masquerades for allegedly robbing a household in the Melege community which is located in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The thieves who disguised as masquerade were identified as Sherrif Ojo and Muhammed Lukman, they were arrested after they allegedly robbed one Adinoyi Mohammed of the sum of N370, 000 and also took his mobile phone by force.
From the story gathered, it was reported that the suspect inflicted injury on Mr. Saliu Ajayi the victim’ s father before they left the victim’ s house.
The story was also confirmed by the public relations officer of the Ondo State Police command Funmi Odulami in a statement which he released following the arrest of the suspects.
The PPRO explained that both suspects used cutlasses to attack the father of the victim and the sum of Three Hundred and Seventy Thousand Naira was forcefully collected from them, also, a phone which is worth Thirty- two thousand Naira was collected from then and the criminal also took a shirt worth Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira.
” The two suspects who paraded themselves as masqueraders, inflicted injury with cutlasses on one Adinoyi Mohammed, dispossessed him of the sum of N370, 000. 00, a handset valued N32, 000. 00 and a shirt valued at N2, 500. 00.
” They also inflicted injury on the victim’ s father, Saliu Ajayi before leaving the scene of the incident but they were apprehended by security agents within the town.
” Two cutlasses, charms and masquerade clothes were recovered from them and the two suspects had been arrested and will soon be charged to court while effort is ongoing to arrest the other fleeing masqueraders
The criminal who disguised themselves as masquerade have been arrested and are currently in the Ondo state police custody while awaiting trial.
