Are you trying to sport a look where all eyes stop at your beard? The thick, dense, luscious face mane that’s intimidating as well as super impressive? You know, that rugged look? The one that’s enough to make people stop and take you seriously for a first impression?
While having it is great, it’s not as simple, my friend. Growing that kind of beard takes effort. However, with the correct guidance, nothing is impossible, and that’s where we step in.
But before that, please do understand that as far as things related to hair and beard growth are concerned, genetics and hormones play a big role. Having said that, there are ways to alter the rate of growth too, given you don’t have any underlying roadblocks that are here to stay. Now that we have it out of the way, here are 5 things you should do every single day, if you want to grow a thick, dense, big beard faster, that will stop people on their tracks.
- Massage with coconut/amla/eucalyptus oils. Massaging the skin beneath your beard will ensure optimum blood circulation which is great for beard growth, and the nutrients in the oils will ensure that your beard is never dry and is always nourished. You see, undernourished beards will definitely have growth issues – they say oil is the food for hair and beard, after all.
Wash the beard at optimum frequency. That means, make sure it’s clean at all times, but don’t shampoo it every single day as that would strip it off the moisture and make it dry. The result? Poor growth. On the other hand, not washing it regularly will mean that dirt and scruff is getting stuck on the skin underneath, giving rise to skin issues like acne – another big reason for poor growth.
The ideal frequency of applying a beard shampoo would be once every 3 days, and the rest of the days you can use your hands and water to sort of massage it under the shower to get the job done.
- Let’s get to the basics now, shall we? I’m not here to tell you that ‘blah product will magically give you exponential beard growth’ because honestly, nothing will. There are a few physiological issues that need to be sorted out too, which are skin-deep. Exercising and eating more protein would be one such thing, which may look like it has got nothing to do with beard growth, but my friend, that can make all the difference.
Protein is the building block of hair. I’m sure this is not the first time you’re hearing that optimum protein intake is the key behind amazing hair, skin, and nails, right? It’s true. So there’s that, and exercise will make sure there’s sufficient blood circulation throughout your body. Exercises like weight lifting and strength training can also temporarily boost testosterone, according to a few research papers. Plus if not the beard, we’re definitely looking at being jacked here, so might as well!
- Sleep for 8 hours and try to not take stress. This is important fam. If you aren’t getting enough sleep, forget about fast growth. It simply won’t happen. Also, you know back in the day, who had the biggest beards? The sages and rishi-munis. They had no stress, I mean they did mostly chill in caves and mountains NOT taking Zoom calls.
Jokes apart, try relaxing. Stress is a major growth buster, so the more at peace you are, the more your beard is likely to grow. Plus you’ll just be happier that way.
- Last but not the least: Do nothing. Yes, that’s the advice. Do nothing and let your beard be. It takes time to grow, and if you don’t have the patience for that, no one can help you my friend. Don’t we all know that guy who gives up after every 2 weeks? Don’t be that guy. Give it a few months.
Why don’t you lay off experimenting with 3 new products every week and just let your beard be instead? Try it. Don’t shave it off after 3 weeks if the growth is patchy, instead you can trim selectively and let the rest grow. It shall happen.
