On the Tuesday edition of the TVC Journalists’ Hangout, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, shared his thoughts on the number of Nigerians soldiers who have been maimed or killed, in the battle against insurgency.
Check out what Babajide Kolade-Otitoju said:
“People think that dealing with Boko Haram is a tea party. Some of the men of the Nigerian Army have lost their legs and arms.
The Army said that they have over 7000 maimed officers in the military hospital and we can only imagine how many officers have been lost to this war. The day Senator Ali Ndume gave a personal rough estimate of the number of soldiers killed, the Nigerian Army spoke up against him. That’s not the kind of information they want people to hear.
There are some phases of the war, where the Army lost up to 40 men in a day. In Damboa, the Army lost 44 men and there are other cases like that. The Army instructed soldiers to stop making social media posts about the death of other soldiers, but somehow these images still get leaked to the public.”
Dear Nigerians, what is your take on Babajide Kolade-Otitoju’s statement?
