Torino vs Juventus
Italy Serie A,
Date: Saturday, 2 October 2021
Kick-off 17:00 UK/ 18:00 CET
Venue: Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
Torino and Juventus are all square at two wins, draws, and defeats after six rounds of the Serie A and ahead of the 205th Derby della Molle.
After losing two in a row at the beginning of the season, Torino managed to shift their fortunes around and initiate a thread of four consecutive unbeaten matches in the Serie A.
They currently share the 9th place in the league standings with Juventus and Bologna after winning and drawing two apiece of the last four league affairs.
The head coach Ivan Juric seems to have found the right defensive formula for the team as Il Toro have only allowed two goals in the last four outings.
They were close to beating Venezia last weekend, but were unlucky to concede a late equalizer that cancelled Josip Brekalo’s opener.
It is worth noting that Ivan Juric was not able to count on services of his main forward Andrea Bellotti lately.
The Italian striker only made two appearances for Torino this season and is expected to miss Derby della Molle as well.
The derby comes at a tricky moment for Juventus, just three days after their tough fixture against Chelsea in the Champions League.
The heads coach Massimiliano Allegri felt a huge relief as his men finally recorded their inaugural league win a week ago when they saw off Spezia 2-3 on the road.
I Bianconeri backed it up with a 3-2 home victory over Sampdoria on Sunday.
However, they will also likely be without their main two attacking options here as both Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata missed mid-week’s clash with Chelsea and are hardly pass fitness tests for the Turin derby.
Torino vs Juventus Head-to-head
Juventus won 91, drew 57, and lost 56 of 204 head to head clashes with Torino.
Juventus have been particularly dominant in the most recent history of this matchup, winning seven and drawing two of the last nine meetings with Torino.
Both teams scored in four of the last five head to head affairs.
Torino vs Juventus Prediction
Both Torino and Juventus will miss some of their key attacking players here. If we add Torino’s strong defensive displays under Ivan Juric of late (two goals conceded in the last four league outings) to the mix, the Under 2.5 goals FT looks super attractive at the 2.00 odds.
Juventus have been far from impressive so far in the season and they’ve also had a tough game against Chelsea on Wednesday evening. We just have to try with Torino not to lose at the 1.83 odds
