President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday said that his regime is doing its best to develop the right infrastructure systems.
This is as he said that Nigeria is aware of her limitations, hence the emphasis on building infrastructure.
Buhari said this on Wednesday during a bilateral meeting with Queen of The Netherlands, Maxima Zorreguieta, at the margins of the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York, USA.
” Without infrastructure, development would be limited, so we put emphasis on building roads, rail, and power. We have a comprehensive plan, and we are doing our best” , he noted.
Queen Zorreguieta lauded what she called ” the huge effort” made by Nigeria to combat coronavirus, saying; ” you spent a great part of your GDP” .
You won’ t be alone. We will be there along with other partners” , she informed the Nigerian leader.
Although the event took place nearly completely last year due to the pandemic, many world leaders are delivering in- person speeches at this year’ s summit, including US President Joe Biden, who made his first address to the 193- member world body since he took office.
Since the UNGA will be represented by numerous world leaders, Reporting IPOB’ s activities in the Southeast could be an intelligent decision for Buhari. This is because other world leaders might decide to help the Buhari government to ensure that the activities of IPOB in Nigeria are eliminated.
However, will reporting Nnamdi Kanu at the UNGA be a smart move?
I think it will be a smart from President Muhammadu Buhari to report Nnamdi Kanu at the UNGA because other world leaders will advise him on how to handle Nnamdi Kanu’ s case.
President Muhammadu Buhari should report Nnamdi Kanu at the UNGA meeting inorder to let other world leaders know why he has been in detention. Buhari should also list all the charges that has been leveled against Nnamdi Kanu while reporting him at the UNGA meeting in New York.
