One staff of a microfinance bank located in Abeokuta is in trouble after he was busted for staging his robbery. The suspect whose name is given as Olagoke Dare reportedly planned with some guys to ambush him and his female colleague on their way back to withdraw N3 Million from the bank.
According to the report, Dare, the suspect, was arrested following a distress call received by the police at Ibara divisional headquarters, that armed robbers had attacked the duo of Olagoke Dare and Mary Agbejo shortly after the two staff of a microfinance bank came out from commercial bank premises at Oke- ilewo area of Abeokuta.
The police then drafted there to try a scene where one Idowu Tunde was subsequently arrested through the assistance of members of the public. During interrogation and investigation, it was revealed that it was Adegoke Dare who invited the robbery suspect.
The arrested suspect confessed that he knew the microfinance staff before the incident. He said Adegoke came to him and told him that he should organize guys to come and rob him and his colleagues. He also stated that he was even the one who gave him the gun he used in the botched operation. Although the gun turned out to be fake.
The investigation revealed that while Dare and his female colleagues were in the bank withdrawing the money, the suspect entered their car and waited for them. It was further revealed that Dare deliberately did not lock the door of the car for the robbery suspect to gain entry.
As soon as they came back to their car with the N3 Million, Tunde, the robbery suspect, pointed the fake gun at the female colleague who was carrying the money at the time. The lady noticed the gun was not real and she reportedly dragged it with the suspect and she raised an alarm at the same time.
The two suspects are now in police custody at the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further discrete investigation.
