It was another victory for Chelsea fans yesterday night in the Monday night football edition of the English Premier League. The Blues welcomed high-flying Everton to Stamford Bridge, only to humble them.
An own goal and a Jorginho penalty secured all three points for Chelsea, keeping them still in the top 4 race.
One man who deserves all the accolades for yesterday’s result is German playmaker Kai Havertz. The 21-year-old who has been under fire made up the first goal and also won the penalty for the second.
With this victory, Thomas Tuchel’s reign has now seen 11 matches without a loss, scoring 12 goals and conceding only 2.
The German tactician also made a record yesterday, becoming the first EPL manager to record 5 clean sheets in his first five home matches.
Chelsea currently sits in 4th position with 50 points. Four points behind Manchester United & three behind Leicester City.
Any hopes of winning the title are over, but the race for the top four finish will get more heated in the coming weeks.
