Before Coronavirus pandemic hit the whole world, ASUU strike had been a nagging issue in Nigerian universities.
But this current strike in the year 2020 is the worst ever experienced in the country! The strike is running up to a year now.
It has been back and forth issue between the federal government and the association with no serious resolutions reached.
The receiving end is the students who probably belong to poor or middle class in the society!
If you go to a public University in Nigeria, with the perpetual strike by ASUU, how will you graduate at a particular age you had wanted to be?
There are many targets, hopes and aspirations of young people that are going to be dashed or misplaced for something you never wished for.
Yes it is good to set a goal or target, just like this guy puts it by graduating the age of 21, serving at the age of 22, probably do your masters at the age of 23, get a job at the age of 25 and get married 3 years after at the age of 28.
Is that so hard to achieve as a young student if things go on smoothly? To me it is achievable if ASUU strike is out of it. Their colleagues in private universities are achieving it without hassles.
But in Public universities, even if you are strong and you think you can achieve your dreams, ASUU strike will overturn the dreams! Of course, this guy’s tweet looks mockery but to me, there is iota of truth in it. It now depends how you view it!
