As the ENDSARS protest persist, Nigerian youths have proven to the entire world that there is power in unity as they continue to protest for days now against police brutality, injustice, extortion and extra judicial killings of innocent Nigerians by men of the defunct SARS, now SWAT.
As the case is, many celebrities, political leaders and civil rights groups have also lend their voices to the public in a bid to make sure that the demands of the protesters are met without any compromise. The seem persistent and never giving up on their demands as more people join the protest across different cities in almost all the states of the country.
However, the calibre of people who are now taking the course of the protest upon themselves is what should record with to boost the moral of protesters as they continue to campaign against police brutality and other negative vibes.
On that note, Senator Dino Melaye, a former senator of the federal republic of Nigeria representing the good people of Kogi West has declared his stance on the ongoing protest as he advises the APC government led by President Muhammadu Buhari to wake up and work with the people to help bring the protest to a logical end.
He made it clear that government has no power to stop the ongoing peaceful protest across the country as the people are now aware of their rights and responsibilities as citizens of the country.
Dino as we all know is controversial and he since he left the APC to PDP, he’s become more vocal, talking about most of the ill things happening in the country. The point remains that he has spoken in line with the philosophy behind the ongoing protest. See below what he said on his official twitter page.
“Government have no power in our extant laws to ban protest. So Government must realise that the people have woken up from their slumber. Work with the people or welcome a REVOLUTION.”
