Your Focus Should Be On Tackling Alarming Rate Of Insecurity In Nigeria- APC Chairman To Buhari
Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gbenga Olawepo- Hashim, on Wednesday urged President Muhammadu Buhari to focus more on security challenges in the country than the 2023 general elections.
In recent times, Nigeria has faced monumental security challenges with terrorists looting communities in various parts of the country, including Abuja, the seat of government.
Olawepo- Hashim, who made the appeal in a statement titled ” National security is more urgent than the 2023 elections” , warned that terrorists were still being hunted in Abuja despite efforts by the military to crush them.
He said: ” Before the elections we must have a nation, our people must first be alive and safe to be able to vote. ” The barbarians are at the gates of the capital, our Republic is in danger, our proven way of life, pluralism, democracy, state secularism are in danger.
The clock is ticking, time is running out, and evil forces are preparing to invade the capital. Although the army has launched an offensive to clear the capital, the areas around the capital are still in enemy hands and they retain the ability, flexibility and initiative to attack wherever and whenever they want.
