Zambian disc jockey, Hero DJ, who dominated headlines after news went viral that he’s been given the beating of his life for playing a South African music in a nightclub in the wake of xenophobic attacks, has denied reports.
Media publications on Wednesday claimed that a young Zambian disc jockey has been beaten, he crime was playing a South African music.
Reports suggested that he was beaten by revelers after he dropped a song by South African rapper, AKA.
A viral picture captures him being disfigured in what appears he had suffered some severe beatings.
However, mynewsgh.com, has reported that Hero DJ has refuted earlier reports in an interview with them.
According to the website, he described as “unfortunate” news which suggests he had been beaten to pulp after playing a South African music.
He is quoted as saying “one upsetting issue someone just used my pic and other disfigured pic of someone I don’t know”.
The Ghanaian owned news portal further said he called the viral trend “an alarming false rumour”
